Take part in the newest sport for dogs! Scent Detection encourages dog to use their amazing sense of smell to find and indicate to the handler that they have found something. It is quite fun and challenging and the dogs love it.

Course Descriptions

Beginner
Introduction to scent detection. Scent used – wintergreen. All dogs love this sport. It is a great way to build your relationship and learn so much about reading your dog.

Novice/Open
Begin to learn more about container, interior and exterior (weather permitting). Scents used – Wintergreen and Pine. Your dog will experience many different scent scenarios and begin to work on a formal indication.

Open/Excellent
Learning the more advanced levels and scenarios of scent detection. Scents used – Wintergreen, Pine and Anise. Prerequisite: Novice/Open Scent

Excellent/Master
Build your dog’s ability to search for hides that may be inaccessible, located side by side and many other scenarios including learning how to clear a room (a room that has no scent in it) Scents used – Wintergreen, Pine, Anise, and Cloves. Prerequisite – Open/Excellent Scent
